Influences

I would have to call Martin Puryear and Isamu Noguchi my two main influences, I'm sure there are many others that I am both aware of as well as some I don't even remember but have picked up ideas from. I would say I am more inspired by, then influenced by the artists that draw my attention. A list of those I am aware of, would include:

Jeremy Anderson for playful wood constructions

Ursula VonRydingsvard and her haunting works

Leon Golub for social commentary

Andy Goldsworthy, work with nature

Chris Drury, Nature Works

Chris Burden. for pushing the edge of what art and the artist is

Michael McMillien, incredible installations and assemblage works

Ed Kienholtz, for his installation and assemblage

Libby Hayes as my partner and a true artist with a great eye

Raymond Barnhart as mentor and a person that cared

My sister Charlotte Norman, Fiber Artist.

And so many not famous artists that I have seen in galleries books and magazines. Also I must include the incredible poets, writers, musicians, and the people that inspire by doing creative and meaningful work with there lives.
